Irene Abendroth (b.14 July 1872, Lviv, Ukraine; d. 1 September 1932 in Weidling, Vienna), soprano.
Irene Abendroth joined the Vienna Court Opera in 1889, where she made her debut as Amina in Vincenzo Bellini's La Sonnambula (The Sleepwalker).
Abendroth found herself dissatisfied with the roles assigned to her during Mahler’s time as director, and following just two seasons under Mahler she left for Dresden in 1899, where she joined the Königliches Hoftheater (Royal Court Theatre).
