    Grete Forst (b. 16 August 1878; d. 1942), soprano
    Forst was a member of the Vienna Court Opera between 1903 and 1911 Her debut role in Vienna was as Lucia di Lammermoor in Gaetano Donizetti's opera of the same name. On 31 October 1907 she also played the title role on the opening night of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly, in a production designed by Alfred Roller.
    Grete Forst was Jewish. On 27 May 1942 she was deported from Vienna to Minsk by the Nazis. The exact date of her murder is unknown.
